The growing years
From what started off as a modest laboratory facility in a 100-square-feet space in the quiet town of Chemmad in Malappuram district of Kerala, Janatha Diagnostics has developed into a 20,000-square-feet facility. Janatha Ventures soon expanded its realms to various segments of healthcare sector in India and abroad. It has also spread its wings covering real estate, food marketing, furniture and optical retail sectors. Now, with a strength of over 300 staff and a trusted client base, the group has become a successful business group that records an annual turnover of USD 10 million.
P.M. Shahul Hameed

A man of great business acumen and far-sightedness, P.M. Shahul Hameed founded Janatha Diagnostics back in 1973 when he was just 21, at a time when medical laboratories with advanced facilities were fewer in number.
As a visionary, philanthropist and social activist, he knew the potential of such a venture in healthcare sector, which was set for an exponential growth in the coming years. From his humble beginnings as a struggling bread winner who lost his father at the age of two, Shahul Hameed grew up into a compassionate soul who knew the layman’s struggles for survival. Apart from his philanthropic activities, he is a key person of a Chemmad-based charitable hospital for cancer and dialysis.
With his benevolence and business expertise, he developed Janatha Ventures into a premier group in the field of medical diagnostic services.
